I like your views Lucy. Although I might take issue along the way. Married men also do stupid things, as do women. As to illnesses, I know not. Much could be attributed to preventive health care, genetics etc.. Married men and women also drink and do drugs as well as unmarried. They have financial issues as well. Overall I like what you have to say. Married couples have need of working together to solve financial issues and all the other things they face in the relationship. Your view tends to assume a "perfect" relationship, of which I don't know of any. Every marriage requires mutual understanding and cooperative problem solving.
